Brit-luxe brand Sunspel opens US store in Silver Lake

Sunspel is continuing one of the busiest periods in its history with the debut of another US store for the British luxury label on 15 March.

It’s opened its first Los Angeles store on Sunset Boulevard in Silver Lake. The debut will follow the success of its first West Coast store at the Marin Country Mart north of San Francisco in November last year, and is the next step in its winder US expansion drive.

The new store offers the label’s full menswear range including its Made-in-England T-shirt and the Riviera Polo Shirt as worn by Daniel Craig as James Bond.

Overall, the store’s focus is on luxury casualwear, underwear and swimwear.

Sunspel CEO Raul Verdicchi hailed the firm’s arrival in the heart of Los Angeles and said that the “milestone confirms our commitment towards the US market, representing our third store opening in just one year and our fourth overall. Silver Lake, renowned for its sophisticated yet relaxed ambiance, provides the ideal setting to showcase our British timeless luxury style and iconic pieces, such as our handmade Sunspel classic T-shirt, to LA.”

The brand has just unveiled a collaboration with Nigel Cabourn and last year was given the Made in the UK award at the Walpole Awards after “demonstrating a strong commitment to the development of British manufacturing and accelerated expansion of the brand outside of the UK”.
